Create an account and open the dashboard
Select “Get Started Free” below to open the VPNUrban dashboard. Create an account with a username and password—no email address required. Follow the on-screen instructions and submit the form. If you see a field error, check that your username is available and that both password entries match. If you already have an account, use the dashboard's login option; there's no need to create another account for a different device.
Once you've created your account, make sure you can open the account overview before choosing a plan. You'll use your username and password to check orders, get your subscription, and submit support tickets. Store them in a trusted password manager. Don't post your account details or subscription screenshots in public forums, and don't use someone else's account in place of your own.
The “Get Started Free” button on this page opens the account creation flow. Plan fees are shown on the Plans page and in your dashboard order. Opening the dashboard doesn't activate a plan; next, confirm your chosen plan and payment status, then get the subscription you'll use to connect.
Choose a plan and check the price and data allowance
Open the Plans section in your dashboard. Check the billing terms first, then the data allowance. Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Light browsing and document work use less data than regular HD video streaming. Choose based on your actual usage, not the number of regions covered.
If your usage varies, consider a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Data packages don't expire and remain available until used, unlike monthly plans, which reset each month. Before choosing, compare the price, data allowance, and billing terms—not just the amount shown on the plan card. If you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days.
Choose a plan, follow the dashboard prompts to confirm your order, and complete payment. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported; follow the instructions on the payment page. After paying, return to the dashboard and check that your order and plan status have updated. If the status hasn't changed yet, refresh and check again rather than paying a second time. The service includes a 7-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy for details.
Get your subscription and prepare the client
Once your plan is active, open the account overview in your dashboard and find the subscription section. A subscription link lets a client retrieve route settings; it isn't a regular webpage or an installer. Use the dashboard's import option when available. If your client can't accept an imported configuration, copy the subscription link and paste it into the client's Subscription or Configuration page.
Copy the entire link without removing any parameters, and don't paste it into a search box. “Update subscription” usually means the client will reload the server list, not that you need to pay again. If the dashboard offers several import options, choose the one for your client. If you're unsure, read the option's description instead of switching formats repeatedly.
Download clients through the dashboard. After signing in, you can get clients for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux. You must also be signed in to access your subscription. The iOS download option requires an active, unexpired plan; see the iOS section below for details. Installing the client before importing the subscription usually makes it easier for your system to recognize the import request.
Treat your subscription link like an account credential and don't share it publicly. Before sharing a screenshot, hide the full link and any sensitive parameters. If you think the link has been exposed, check the dashboard for a reset option or contact support through a ticket. For more on what subscription links do, how to update them, and what to do if one is exposed, read the Beginner's Guide to Subscription Links. This page covers only the steps you need to connect.
Windows: Import a Subscription
On your Windows device, sign in to the dashboard and open the client download section. Choose the desktop client for Windows. Use a client provided by the dashboard that supports subscription imports; a regular browser extension isn't a desktop client. After installing and opening the app, return to the dashboard and try importing. If your browser asks to open an app, check its name before allowing it.
If the automatic import doesn't open the client, go to its Subscription or Configuration section and look for an option such as Add Configuration or Import from Link. Paste the full subscription link you copied, enter a name you'll recognize, then save and update. When the update succeeds, you should see a server list. A configuration name with no servers doesn't necessarily mean the import is complete.
Select the configuration, then choose a region on the server selection page. For your first connection, keep the client's recommended settings and enable the connection as prompted. If Windows or the client requests network permissions, read the prompt before approving. Don't run another proxy tool at the same time, as the settings may conflict. Then follow the connection verification steps at the end of this guide to test the service you want to use.
macOS: Add a Configuration and Allow the Connection
On macOS, use the desktop client provided in the dashboard. Sign in and download it from the client section. When you install and open it for the first time, follow the prompts shown by macOS. If macOS can't open the app, check its source and the exact message, then visit the Help Center for guidance. Don't disable macOS security settings just to continue the installation.
Return to the subscription section of the dashboard and use the import option for your client. If your browser doesn't open the app, go to the client's Configuration Manager or Subscription page and choose Add from Link. Paste the full link, save, and update. Once the server list appears, set the new configuration as active. If you've imported other configurations before, make sure the client hasn't stayed on an old one.
Choose a route and connect. Some clients ask to add a network configuration or enable a network feature; follow the instructions shown by macOS. When the client window or menu bar shows that you're connected, open the service you want to use and test it. A changed icon alone doesn't mean every app is using the route. Keep the default settings until the connection works; if you later need per-app routing, see the troubleshooting guide.
Android: Add a Subscription and Allow the Connection
On your Android device, sign in to the dashboard and download the client for your platform. This guide uses a client that supports subscription link imports and can establish a device-level network connection. If Android shows an installation prompt, make sure you're installing the client linked from the dashboard and follow the instructions. Don't download files from unfamiliar messages or public sharing links.
Open the client and go to its Subscription or Configuration page. Try importing from the dashboard. If your browser can't open the app, choose Add from Link instead: copy the full subscription link from the dashboard, switch back to the client, paste and save it, then update. When the server list appears, select a configuration and route. If the list is empty, check your plan status in the dashboard and make sure you copied the full link.
When you connect for the first time, Android may ask to set up a VPN connection. Make sure the request comes from the client you just installed, then allow it and check the connection status in the app. Keep the client in the foreground while testing the service. If the connection drops only when you switch apps, check the app's background activity and battery settings. See Troubleshooting for more help.
iOS: Import a Subscription and Add a VPN Configuration
In Safari or another browser on your iPhone or iPad, sign in to the dashboard. Make sure your account has an active, unexpired plan, then open the client download section to get the iOS client. iOS has different download requirements from other platforms. If the dashboard shows a plan-related message, check your status in the account overview first; it doesn't necessarily mean your subscription link is broken.
After installing the client, return to the dashboard and use the matching import option. If prompted to open the client, check the app name before proceeding. If the import doesn't happen automatically, look for an option to add a link in the client's Subscription or Configuration section. Paste the full subscription link from the dashboard, save, and update. When the server list loads, select the active configuration and the region you want to use.
The first time you connect, iOS may ask whether to add a VPN configuration. Confirm the request comes from your client, allow it, and follow the device prompts to authorize the setup. Return to the client and connect, then open the service you want to use and test it. Seeing a VPN configuration in Settings means it was added; it doesn't guarantee that the route can access a particular service. For more detailed steps, read the iPhone Setup and Subscription Import Guide.
Connection Verification and Basic Troubleshooting
After importing your subscription, choose a route that meets the region requirements of the service you want to use and connect. Reopen the website or app, first checking that it loads, then testing features such as signing in, sending a request, or playing content. A working homepage doesn't mean every feature is available. Pages already open may still use the previous connection, so close and reopen them after switching routes.
Choose a route based on what you want to do, not just geographic distance. For document browsing, you could start with a nearby region; for a service with regional requirements, choose a matching region. VPNUrban covers 110+ countries with 170+ routes, including IEPL, relayed, and direct connections. See Global Locations for available options. The platform's account region, subscription eligibility, and service rules may also affect access; a network connection can't replace those requirements.
If you can't access a service, disconnect the client first and check that your local network can open everyday websites. Then check in the dashboard that your plan is active and has data remaining. Update the subscription, confirm the right configuration is selected, and try another route. Change one setting at a time and note the results; this makes it easier to find the cause than changing several things at once.
If only one app isn't working, check whether the client's proxy mode and rules include it; don't reinstall everything as a first step. Slow speeds, frequent disconnections, failed subscription updates, and DNS warnings each require different checks. This page covers the setup flow; see Complete Troubleshooting Guide for detailed steps, or visit the FAQ for common account and billing questions.
For one-on-one help, submit a ticket through the dashboard. Include your platform, the client name shown in the app, the selected route, what you were doing when the issue occurred, and any error message. Before sharing screenshots, hide sensitive account details other than your username, your subscription link, and private payment information. Never send your password in a ticket. Clear notes about what happened and what you've tried will help support investigate.
